Here in Mississauga, we feel that there is no reason for you to be concerned if you require a root canal. Endodontics, also known as root canal therapy, refers to a filling of the root structure of your tooth. This is usually required as a result of trauma to the tooth or significant decay that involves the nerve or pulp of your tooth.
When you undergo a root canal or other endodontic treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected. The tooth is then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection and will continue to function like any other tooth.
As with all treatment that we provide here in Mississauga, we will ensure your complete comfort and understanding. A root canal is nothing to be worried about, it is however extremely important in the saving of your tooth!
